2020-21 Competition Season draws to a close
17 May 2021 by Dan Brienza
PGO Families,
With the conclusion of the Level 10 Development Program (DP) National Championships this weekend, our competitive season has come to an end. National and Eastern Championship competitors are shooting for gold, but are also competing to catch the eye of the college coach. NCAA-D(I) scholarships are valued at over $300,000 each. We are incredibly fortunate to be part of one of the most successful gymnastics clubs in the country for NCAA placements.
Please take a moment to thank our coaches for this particularly difficult season. They have been our “frontline workers” all year. During the height of the pandemic, the gym has served as a place of refuge for our children, providing some sense of normalcy. My heart goes out to each and every coach that made the decision to come to work during times of uncertainty and before the vaccines were available.
And, finally, I would like to take a moment to recognize the Southeastern athletes that have qualified to the highest levels of competition this season:
Level 10 National Championship Participants:
Lali Dekanoidze, 38.900
Madison Ulrich, 38.700
Kiley Rorich, 38.325
Victoria Gatzendorfer, 37.875
Jennifer McMillan, 37.725
Gwen Fink, 37.575
Level 9 Eastern Championship Participants:
Caylee Cain, 37.300
Amelia Budd, 36.975
Lindsey Hollifield, 36.850
Skylar Dixon, 36.500
The PGO Board of Directors will be working earnestly to reconcile accounts and close out annual reports. Please join me for our annual PGO membership meeting on Sunday, June 27 at 6:00pm for a formal presentation of our year end financials. Financial reports will be available for inspection after the meeting.
Warmest Regards,
